From Dated Cream to Farrow & Ball Pigeon — A Bedwas Kitchen, Refined
This Bedwas kitchen is a great example of how a considered colour shift — combined with a subtle layout change — can completely reframe a space without full replacement. Originally finished in a dated cream, the cabinetry itself was well-built and worth keeping, but the room lacked balance and flow.
Alongside refinishing the cabinetry in our spray studio in Farrow & Ball Pigeon, the island was repositioned and rotated to better suit the way the space is used. This simple adjustment improves movement through the kitchen and gives the island a more intentional presence within the room.
The muted green-grey tones now sit comfortably alongside the existing timber worktops, tiled flooring and architectural features, creating a softer, more cohesive environment. By refining rather than replacing, the result feels elevated, practical, and designed to last.

Project Overview
Location: Bedwas, Caerphilly
Colour: Pigeon Farrow & Ball
Finish: Workshop spray refinishing, 20% acid catalyst coating
Scope: Refinish existing kitchen cabinetry and reposition island
This Bedwas kitchen was transformed through a combination of refined colour and a subtle but impactful layout change. Originally finished in a dated cream, the cabinetry itself was well-built and worth retaining, but the space lacked cohesion and flow.
Refinished in Farrow & Ball Pigeon, the cabinetry now sits within a softer, more grounded palette. The muted green-grey tones work naturally with the existing timber worktops and tiled flooring, bringing a sense of balance and quiet depth to the room.
Alongside the colour change, the island was rotated and repositioned to better suit the space. This simple adjustment improves movement through the kitchen and gives the island a more intentional presence, allowing the layout to function more naturally day-to-day.
By refining what was already there rather than replacing it, the result feels elevated, practical and considered — a kitchen that now aligns with the home, rather than working against it.
