Restoring the Surface, Respecting the Story

There’s a particular kind of kitchen many homeowners recognise immediately. It was well made. Thoughtfully designed. Built to last. But after a decade or more, the finish has softened, the colour no longer feels quite right, and the space doesn’t reflect how the rest of the home has evolved.
The kitchen hasn’t failed — it’s simply ready to be revived.
At Bespoke Spray Studio, we specialise in kitchen refinishing for homes where the quality is already there. We don’t see ourselves as just decorators, but as specialists working carefully with the craftsmanship that already exists.
We’re not here to disguise a good kitchen under a layer of paint. We’re here to refine it.
Many people refer to this work as “respraying,” but for us it’s a deliberate, technical process. Cabinet doors, drawer fronts and removable panels are removed and refinished in our Cardiff spray workshop, where they can be prepared properly in controlled conditions, away from the dust and disruption of everyday life.
Working this way allows us to focus on consistency, surface quality and colour accuracy — producing a finish that feels calm, considered and intentional.
Choosing a Palette That Settles
Colour in a kitchen doesn’t need to shout to have presence. It should feel considered — comfortable on an ordinary Tuesday morning, just as much as when the space is dressed for guests.
We’re drawn to palettes with depth and architectural balance — soft stones, muted greens, inky blues and carefully chosen bolder tones. We regularly work with ranges from Farrow & Ball and Little Greene, where undertone and restraint matter as much as shade.
The aim isn’t to overwhelm a room, but to allow the cabinetry to sit confidently within it.
A Thoughtful Alternative to Replacement
Choosing to refinish rather than replace is often the most considered decision a homeowner can make.
Well-built kitchens are designed to last. Removing them simply to change the finish can be expensive, disruptive and unnecessary. Refinishing allows you to retain the layout that works, the quality you invested in, and the character your kitchen has developed over time — while allowing the aesthetic to move forward.
For many homes, it’s the most intelligent way to begin a new chapter.
