Vert de Terre Kitchen — Radyr
This Radyr kitchen featured a combination of natural wood cabinets and soft blue painted elements. While both finishes worked individually, together they created a visually heavy, mismatched feel. The layout was generous and well-designed, but the colour contrast made the space feel darker and less cohesive than it could be.
This type of kitchen is ideal for refinishing — where the structure is good, but the colour scheme no longer suits the home.

Project Overview
Location: Radyr, Cardiff
Colour: Vert de Terre
Finish: Workshop spray refinishing, 10% acid catalyst coating
Scope: Refinish existing kitchen cabinetry and island
This large Radyr kitchen was updated in Vert de Terre, bringing a soft, muted green tone across the cabinetry and island. The doors and panels were removed and refinished in our workshop spray studio, allowing the colour to be applied evenly across the full scale of the kitchen. Spray refinishing provided a complete visual transformation while retaining the original layout and structure of the space.

Why Farrow & Ball Vert de Terre Was Chosen
Farrow & Ball Vert de Terre is a soft, muted green that sits comfortably between grey and sage. In this Radyr home, it helped lighten the space while still feeling grounded and architectural. The colour worked particularly well with the existing stone worktops and warm metallic accents, creating a more balanced and timeless look throughout the kitchen and island.
Refinishing the Kitchen Island
The kitchen island was a key feature in this space, previously finished in a darker contrasting tone. By refinishing the island in the same Vert de Terre shade, we created visual continuity across the room. This helped the island feel integrated rather than separate, improving the overall flow of the kitchen.

Is Kitchen Refinishing Right for Your Home?
Kitchen spray refinishing is ideal for homes where:
-
The layout works well
-
Cabinets are solid and structurally sound
-
Doors are good quality but dated in colour
-
Homeowners want a major visual change without full replacement
This Radyr project is a great example of how a professional colour change can modernise a kitchen while keeping the original cabinetry in place.
Durable, Workshop-Applied Kitchen Finishes
All doors, drawer fronts and removable elements were refinished in our spray workshop under controlled conditions. We use durable, furniture-grade coatings designed specifically for kitchens — resistant to moisture, heat and everyday wear.
This approach provides a higher level of consistency and longevity compared to brush or roller painting carried out on site.
Kitchen Refinishing in Radyr and Cardiff
We regularly carry out kitchen refinishing projects in Radyr and across Cardiff for homeowners looking to update high-quality existing kitchens. Workshop spray refinishing is particularly popular in established homes where the cabinetry is well made but the colour scheme feels dated.
