Inside Our Spray Workshop in Cardiff

Why the environment matters more than the paint itself
When people think about kitchen refinishing, they usually focus on the colour or the final look.
But the quality of the finish is shaped long before that — by the environment it’s applied in.
At our Cardiff studio, we’ve built a dedicated spray workshop designed specifically for refinishing kitchens and bespoke joinery. Not just a place to spray, but a controlled environment where every stage of the process is managed properly.
A Workshop Built Around the Result
For nearly a decade, we’ve continually refined both our process and our workspace — investing in professional-grade equipment and a controlled environment that allows us to deliver a consistent, durable finish.
It’s not just what we use — it’s how the entire environment works together.
This level of dedicated setup is still relatively rare for kitchen refinishing in South Wales, and it underpins the consistency of the results we deliver.

A Controlled Spray Environment
All removable components — doors, drawers and panels — are taken to our workshop and finished within a dedicated spray area designed to minimise contamination and maintain consistency.
Airflow, cleanliness and control all play a part in how a coating is applied and how it settles.
By working in a managed environment, we’re able to apply finishes evenly, without the variables that often affect on-site spraying.
Air Filtration & Extraction
A clean finish depends on a clean environment.
Our workshop uses advanced air filtration and extraction to manage airborne dust and overspray during application. This helps maintain a stable spraying environment, allowing coatings to lay down as intended.
It’s a key part of achieving a smooth, consistent result — especially on darker colours or low-sheen finishes where imperfections are more visible.
Preparation Comes First
The finish is only as good as what’s underneath it.
Before anything is sprayed, every component goes through a detailed preparation
process. Surfaces are carefully cleaned, sanded and stabilised to ensure proper adhesion and a uniform base.
This stage takes time — but it’s what determines how well the finish performs over the long term.
A Controlled Drying Process
Once sprayed, components are transferred into a dedicated drying space where temperature and humidity are carefully managed.
This allows coatings to cure in stable conditions, helping them harden properly before being handled and reinstalled.
It also reduces the risk of common issues caused by fluctuating environments — something that’s difficult to control outside of a workshop setting.
Why We Work This Way
Many of the issues people experience with painted kitchens — chipping, poor adhesion, uneven finishes — aren’t caused by the paint itself.
They come down to how and where it was applied.
By removing doors and components and refinishing them in a controlled workshop, we’re able to deliver a more consistent, durable result — one that’s designed to last.
A More Considered Approach
We focus on kitchens that are worth keeping — where the structure is sound, but the finish no longer reflects the space.
Refinishing in a dedicated workshop allows us to improve how the kitchen looks and feels, without the disruption and cost of full replacement.
